When I was 8 I learned how to program in Basic. I taught myself html when I was in high school and the world wide web was new. I started making websites enhanced for Netscape 1.1 and even received a bit of notoriety for one of them. From there I moved onto Pascal, then Javascript, Perl, Classic ASP, VBScript, SQL, SAS, VBA... But I always wanted to make video games. And while I made a few as a kid and teenager, it pretty much came to an end when I got to college. Instead I used my computer skills for 3D modeling and animations, which I also found very enjoyable. However, when I preordered my Analogie Pocket several years ago, I was intrigued by the fact that it would support games in GB Studio. My Pocket arrived, but I never really got around to trying out GB Studio. Well, that all changed when I thought it would be fun for my son, who was learning clarinet at school, to play a rock song. I found a simplified version of Seven Nation Army, and he was able to play it. This gave me the idea of using it to make a Game Boy game about the White Stripes. Well, it didn't go very far until I came up with the idea of including the song in a Guitar Hero type-game. I opened up GB Studio, and I gotta say I like it! It's a shame I never tried it out earlier, but better late than never. Stay tuned as I plan to make more great games in the future!
